This Privacy Policy describes how HeyBites ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and shares your information when you use the HeyBites mobile application and website at https://heybites.com (together, the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Privacy Policy.
Account Information. When you create an account, we collect your email address and name. Restaurant accounts also provide a password.
Location Information. With your permission, we collect your approximate (coarse) device location to show you restaurant promotions near you. We do not use precise GPS tracking for advertising. If you deny location permission, the Service defaults to a general area (Westfield, NJ) and remains usable.
Restaurant and Promotion Content. If you operate a restaurant account, we collect the business information and promotion details you submit, including photos you upload for your promotions.
Transaction Information. When a restaurant pays a listing service fee to publish a promotion, payment is processed by our third-party payment processor (Stripe). We receive a record that a payment was completed (including a reference identifier) but we do not collect or store full payment card numbers.
Usage and Device Information. We collect basic technical information necessary for the Service to function, such as a user identifier and information required to deliver push notifications if you enable them.
We do not track you across other companies' apps or websites, and we do not sell your personal information.
We share information only with the third-party service providers that operate core parts of the Service on our behalf:
Each provider processes information only as needed to perform its function. We may also disclose information if required by law, to enforce our terms, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of HeyBites or others. We do not sell personal information.
We retain personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. You may request deletion of your account and associated personal information by contacting us at the email address below. We may retain certain information as required by law or for legitimate business purposes such as financial record-keeping.
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict the processing of your personal information, including rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA) and similar laws. You can exercise these rights, or ask questions about your data, by contacting us at the email below. You may also disable location access or push notifications at any time in your device settings.
The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
We use reasonable administrative and technical measures, including the security features of our infrastructure providers, to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
